Look at me!

Not that you can see it in this picture, but my favorite shirt is the green one!

Precious Movement

There's just something about a good doctor's appointment that makes you smile. At least when you're pregnant! I had one today, the baby is happy and healthy from the outside! It's little heart is beating nice and strong and right on pace. HOORAY PRAISE GOD. I was poked and measured and touched and you name it, but at the end of it all, it's worth it! I heard our baby's heartbeat again and I think I just felt him/her move! Exciting stuff is happening. Also I feel like I"m growing like a weed and I havn't gained any weight in a month (also good news!). I am working on pictures to post, so hopefully soon I'll be able to show you. . .
Apparently nowhere in Manitoba hospitals can you find out the gender of your baby( the technitions aren't supposed to tell you), however Dr. O gave me this web address: www.babymoon.ca It's really cool. Check it out.

Trains

This morning I was at least 15 minutes late for work. Due to a train of course. As I was sitting waiting for this train it decides to STOP, and then decides nope i'm going to go forward, so he starts moving again. Needless to say this took forever. I informed my boss that I would be late due to a train (everyone laughed at me when I got in) but it was the truth. However, as I was sitting at this train I was reminded of a very wise friend of mine. She had blogged about trains in January: Look for the blessings in the inconveniences. Here's what she had to say: " “okay, Leanne, where’s the blessing in waiting for this train”. i was late for work (of course), and thought “whatever, there’s no way this could be good”. then i noticed the train graffiti. i love train graffiti. (i know it’s vandalism and all, but some of those dudes are amazing artists) i realized then that the train graffiti was my blessing for that moment. waiting for that train gave me a chance to catch my breath from my frantic rush to get to work and appreciate some very creative artwork. since then i have grown to love waiting for trains for this very reason." So what did I do? I took note of the train graffiti. Thanks L.

It's Official

Well as of this morning it's official . . . My stomach has taken over my body. It sticks further out than ever before. I know this seems hard to believe being only 15 weeks pregnant, but we measured this morning, and it's a fact. I'm definetly growing, quickly.

Daytona 500

No wonder it's bigger than any other sporting event. It's because it's so much better! What a race. My one thought is that they should of thrown the caution on the last lap instead of letting them finish the race. That way MARK MARTIN would of won (his first Daytona 500) in the 01 car AND Matt Kenseth would of finished 3rd instead of 27th. But Kevin Harvick won. However what really makes me happy . . . . Kyle Petty (45) finished ahead of Tony Stewart (20) that makes it all worthwhile!
Highlights:
#2 Kurt Busch takes out Tony Stewart (20).

48 turns and takes out a bunch of cars too! HA Jimmie Johnson!

The finish was sooooooooo close. I was cheering for 01.

And just when you think it's all over, Clint Boyer (07) finishes the race upside down and on FIRE

That was one good race!

Happy Valentine's Day

My husband loves me! I got flowers. HOORAY! But get this, he also had a secret meaning behind it all! 2 red roses and 1 one white rose and a bunch of filler flowers (very beautiful). The meaning . . . one red rose for me, one red rose for him and the white rose for our baby. Awwww how sweet. Yup he loves me!

NASCAR

Something we love . . . . NASCAR . . . and the Daytona 500 is on Sunday! Dawson's favorite driver is Matt Kenseth (www.mattkenseth.com) and he's probably mine too. I also enjoy watching Kyle Petty (son of "the King" Richard Petty) (www.pettyracing.com). The picture above is taken at Roush Racing in Concorn, North Carolina. We will be visiting there in May!

Technology

Ever feel like you can't keep up with technology! My word. It seems that at every Bible Study with the Sr. Youth, someone has a new toy that I've never heard of! Well here's the newest one. Camnex. It can store and play thousands of songs, hold tons of photos, and hours of video. It has a built-in FM radio, a voice recorder and you can download and read books on it or play games. How cool is that. It's about the size of an ipod nano, just a bit thicker. But from playing with it for all of 3 seconds, it sure looks cool. Who knew, what's coming out next? I sure have no idea, but I better get "up with the times" so my children will think i'm cool!

All the juicy details

Well Christine's pregnant. Usually with that comment there are a million questions! Hopefully this will help answer some of your burning questions.
Due Date: August 17 2007
Day we found out: Dec 15 2006. The day of Christine's grandpa's funeral. Kinda neat how that worked out hey? It can only be God. It was quite a day of sadness but happiness all at the same time.
Were we trying: That's a tough one! Christine's been struggling with migranes for about a year and a half and the doctors and her FINALLY figured out that it was all hormonal. Her ovaries have stopped producing progesterone. The doctor suggested to try and get pregnant to see if the surges in progesterone would 'even out her migranes' and so far it seems to be working! As soon as Christine went off the pill she was pregnant 2 weeks later. (we were expecting a longer wait, but are very thankful we didn't have to wait)
How do we feel: We are thrilled. I don't know if we could be any more excited. Christine's dream has always wanted to be a mom, and Dawson has wanted children (and lots of them) for well forever! Our dream is coming true as a couple.
How has Christine felt: Overall pretty good. Morning sickness comes in the evening (right around suppertime) which makes preparing supper difficult some days, but overall besides being tired, it's been great. We have entered into the second trimester so hopefully the morning sickness will subside and the sleep will improve. It's hard to function when you're always feeling tired. It's also hard to eat when nothing seems to look or smell good. Blah food. Hopefully that too shall pass.

This is fun!

It seems like everyone is getting into this whole blogging thing, so I decided to check it out! Well I'm having a blast so far and it's my first time! Well as you can see on the main page this is our family! Also I have put a few pictures in from my flower garden. I love lilly's. Tiger lilly's are my absolute favorite! I hate weeding though . . . but when they bloom they look so gorgeous. I was lucky, the family who lived in our home before we did planted all sorts of annuals (the one's that come back every year) so there's always something in bloom. This fall I planed about 50 tulips and 50 daffodils, so I'm looking forward to Spring to watch them come up.
