Baby Room

Thanks to Mom, Dad, Haleigh and Dawson for painting our baby room. I'm so excited. It looks amazing. Here are two pictures to try and 'capture' it for you.

Extreme Diet Coke and Mentos Experiment

The other night this was on Mythbusters. They tested it and could not deny it! The best part, I have actually seen this done in real life. It really works. Just make sure your Mentos are peppermint :)

What a beautiful sight

On my drive to work this morning guess what I saw???? The first blades of green grass peeking up through the ground. It was where water has been standing, so it's nice and hydrated. It was such a beautiful sight. Spring really IS coming :)

Texas Motor Speedway

Jeff Burton passed Matt Kenseth on the final lap Sunday to become the first repeat winner at Texas. Burton never led until he overtook Kenseth on the backstretch coming out of Turn 2 after more than 10 laps of trying to get past him. It was Burton's 19th career victory.
That denied Kenseth, who won the Busch race Saturday, a weekend sweep. It also ended a four-race winning streak by Hendrick Motorsports.

And Baby shall be called . . . .

PEANUT.

To avoid all this confusion of Baby Plett and whether to call it a he or a she, we would like to refer to Baby Plett as Peanut. So if you're reading about Peanut, it's our baby! Thanks Leanne.

Holiday

It's official. The third monday in February will now be a holiday for us Manitobans. Hooray. Apparently it's not named yet, elementary students get to have a say in it. Neat.
A holiday in February, sounds good to me :)

Babymoon Ultrasound

This is Baby Plett. How exciting. I know ultrasound pictures are hard to figure out so I'm going to try and explain it to you the best I can. This is baby's face and stomach. Baby's head is on the right and stomach on the left. There are two dark circles about the middle of the page (slightly to the right of the label, face) these are eyes, below is the nose, and if you look carefully you can see a smile :) The word face is actually written on the placenta, and underneath baby is my uterus, and the black that baby is in, is the fluid.

Going to Babymoon Ultrasound was the most incredible experience EVER! We got to see our baby and how much baby moves around! Really baby moves insane amounts! All the time. Often seeing baby's face was hard because baby kept covering it with hands (and once feet!). An acrobat!

Look closely, baby is giving us the peace sign.

Here is baby's leg. You can see the knee going down to the foot (where it's labeled). So tiny and so cute.

After leaving the ultrasound Dawson looked at me and said, I don't know how people can say that babies aren't a miracle after witnessing that. It really was incredible.

Driving Test

This was a neat email that was forwarded to me. Studies show that 1 of 11 drivers can not score more than 70% on theGMAC drivers test.

I got 90% or 2 wrong. I am pleased with that! It's been a long time since I took my learners! I hope that we are all above average drivers, otherwise that's a very scary statistic.

20 weeks

According to the stats I'm 20 weeks pregnant. And technically that means i'm half way done. That's crazy talk, to think in 20-22 weeks (tops) i'll have a baby in my arms, and my new name will be "mommy" WOW. That's all I can say :) however I'm really looking forward to it.

I have my ultrasound coming up, so hopefully I'll get a picture and find a way to post it, cuz that would be neat! However I'm not making any promises :) I will however comment on it.

I'm still feeling pretty good for the most part. I can tell my immunity is down, cuz I seem to catch a lot of colds, and they all seem to turn into sinus infections of some sort. You know the dreaded sinus headaches, and stuffy nose (or runny), sneezing constantly, sore throat, water in the ears. Yup, not so fun. However I'm drinking all the water and fruit juice I can handle to try and ward it off.

Here's another picture to tie you over for another while, now I really should start growing! The next ten weeks the baby will grow like crazy, so we'll see.
